Dawn has repeatedly witnessed the healing power of yoga since she began working as a Yoga Therapist in 2006. Initially working with clients experiencing structural and alignment based injuries, aches and pains, her concentration has been on helping people explore their body and breath while cultivating an awareness of how their muscles and joints are functioning in unison both on and off the yoga mat - learning which are being over-used that require release and stretching, under-used that need to be engaged and strengthened or misused that are at risk of injury or already injured. This awareness coupled with conscious movement and breath creates a practice that can be incredibly healing, physically challenging yet safe, relaxing and fun. These same techniques have proven effective when working with clients experiencing chronic pain, recovering from illness or healing from emotional trauma. In addition to multiple yoga teacher certifications, advanced trainings and therapeutic massage training, Dawn is also a certified Therapeutic Yoga Teacher which is a carefully designed collection of restorative yoga, gentle yoga, breath work, guided meditation, and hands-on healing techniques developed by Cheri Clampett and Arturo Peale, Cancer Recovery & Beyond Program with Camille Kittrell, Yoga Thrive Research Progam - Yoga for Cancer Survivors through the University of Calgary with Susi Hately Aldous and is an active member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
